About Velova

Household moving in Greece is one of the last consumer markets where the price you are quoted is almost never the price you pay. Surveys are done over the phone in three minutes. Quotes are verbal. Surcharges appear on the day of the move — floor was too high, items were too many, the lift didn't fit a wardrobe. By then your belongings are on the truck and you have no leverage.

We saw too many friends and family members get burned this way. We saw it from the inside as well: the founder spent years coordinating international household goods shipments and watched the same patterns repeat on every corridor — opaque pricing, untracked operators, no recourse when something went wrong.

Velova exists to fix that. Not by reinventing moving, but by orchestrating it properly: structured data going in, locked prices coming out, escrow holding both sides accountable until the job is done.

• Structured survey

  Every move starts with a platform-owned survey — room-by-room photos, a quick item count, or a video walkthrough. Movers quote on the same data. No guesswork, no phone-call estimates.

• Locked-in price

  Your quote is contractually fixed at booking. Extras are only possible under predefined triggers (extra items, access mismatch, third-party fees) and always require photo evidence and your approval.

• Escrow via Stripe

  Your payment is captured at booking and held by Stripe (a PSD2-licensed payment processor) until proof of delivery — protected the whole way and released to the mover only after delivery. Velova never holds your money directly.

• Verified mover network

  Every mover passes a five-step identity verification: company registration, GEMI and tax ID, platform policy acceptance, DAC7 tax compliance, and IBAN verification. Performance is rated per job. If you want transit insurance for your move, request it in the survey and movers include it in their quote.

Velova is built compliance-first. Movers are DAC7-registered and reported to the relevant tax authorities under EU Directive 2021/514. All personal data is processed and stored inside the European Union — our infrastructure runs on Frankfurt-region servers, GDPR-native by design. Survey photos and videos are auto-deleted thirty days after job completion. We hold no customer funds at any point; payments are processed by Stripe Connect under PSD2.

Velova was founded by George Simigiatos, an HHG import coordinator who saw the industry from the inside — the surcharges, the unaccountable subcontractors, the customers with no recourse. The platform is the answer he wanted to give every client who asked, “how do I know I won't get burned?”
