Cost guide
How much does a move cost in Greece?
No move costs "this much". It costs according to six things — and once you know them, the quote you get hides no surprises.

The six things that set the price
Volume (m³)
The volume of your belongings, not the square metres of your home. A studio is usually 5–10 m³, a two-bedroom home 20–30 m³.
Distance
Within the city, long-distance or international. On long-distance routes there is often a shared-load option at a lower price.
Access
Floor, lift, distance from the parking spot, narrow streets. In Athens this is often the second biggest factor after volume.
Packing
Full packing by the crew, fragile items only, or you pack yourself. Boxes and materials are charged separately.
Date
June–September, month-end and weekends cost more. Flexibility on the date means a lower price.
Special items and services
Piano, safe, artwork, furniture disassembly and reassembly, storage.
How it works
- 01
Describe your move
Photos per room or a quick inventory. Access, dates, packing. Ten minutes, from your phone.
- 02
Compare quotes on equal terms
Verified movers quote on the same survey. You see who the mover is and their price before you decide.
- 03
Book and pay securely
You pay through Stripe. The amount is protected and released to the mover after delivery is confirmed.

Why two quotes differ so much
Because they usually are not pricing the same thing. One estimated 20 cubic metres over the phone, the other 30. One counted the fourth floor with no lift, the other did not. One included packing, the other will "see on the day".
On Velova every mover sees the same survey — volume, access, packing, dates — and quotes are compared on equal terms. When they differ, they differ in price, not in what is included.
Hidden charges and how to avoid them
The most common complaint about moving is not the price. It is the price that changed on moving day: "extra for stairs", "extra for distance", "extra for packing we did not agree".
On Velova the quote is binding. Extra charges are allowed only in predefined cases, with photo evidence and your approval inside the platform. The system does not allow unilateral charges — and your payment stays protected until you confirm delivery.

Frequently asked questions about moving costs
Do I pay anything to get quotes?
No. The survey and the quotes are free and without obligation. You pay only if you book a move.
What does the quoted price include?
Everything you declared in the survey: loading, transport, unloading and the services you chose, such as packing or reassembly. Every quote lists it in detail, so you compare the same thing.
How do I pay?
By card through Stripe. The amount is held and released to the mover after delivery is confirmed. No cash at the truck.
When is a move cheapest?
Outside summer, mid-month and on weekdays. If your date is flexible, say so in the survey — movers price it.
Can I move just a few things?
Yes. Small moves and low volumes often travel as shared loads, at a correspondingly lower price.
